Root Canal

A root canal is performed to save an infected tooth by eliminating the infection in the nerve of the tooth. Root canal treatment is usually done over a series of dental visits and involves removal of the inflamed nerve from the tooth. Once the inflamed nerve is removed, the root canal is then cleaned, disinfected and then sealed. Finally, the tooth is then capped, sometimes with a crown to completely restore the tooth.

If a root canal is necessary, it is important that the tooth is treated as soon as possible as to avoid the infection spreading further and causing complications with surrounding teeth, your jaw or neck.

At Bilby Dental we use the latest technology in Rotary Endodontics to perform root canal treatments quickly and painlessly, reducing your time in the dental chair and time in post-operative recovery.
